ABOUT US

In late 2018, Howard Conder and Brendan Murphy-McVey, started "Training Sessions" for people aged over 50+ at Goals Tolworth, in Surrey.  The group became known as ‘Kingston Walking Football’.  Unfortunately, when covid hit, restrictions put a stop to these sessions.

After covid, many of the pre-covid participants decided to re-group again. "JP" took over the 'Games Sessions' and Chris Beech took on the 'Club Administrator' role.

It is for ex-football players, who are aged 50+ to over 80 years of age. The group has almost seventy participants, with a mixture of footballing abilities, but all are united by the love for the beautiful game.

In 2023, the group became affiliated to the Surrey FA, as ‘Kingston Walking Football Club’ so that they could compete in FA-sanctioned Tournaments.  At this point, a Kingston 70+ squad was formed to represent the “Club”.

OUR MISSION?

To prove that football is not just for the young and reckless, but also for the slightly creaky and wonderfully friendly.

NOT JUST A CLUB

We are a support group for those who miss their glory days.  We offer a safe and supportive environment where you can relive your football memories and to create new ones.

SIMPLE VALUES

Stay active, have fun and improve or maintain their skills.

MORE THAN A SPORT

A way to stay connected, make new friends, and improve your well-being.

So, if you are looking for a way to get back into the game, or just want to avoid becoming a couch potato, come and join us. We promise you will not regret it.

You can catch up with our past and current news by viewing our Facebook Group Page.  It is a ‘Public Group’ so anyone can sign-up and join the group. All results and match reports are on ‘facebook’.

WALKING FOOTBALL RULES

Football rule poster with the text 'Walking Football Rules' and Dexter Sports logo, background shows open book pages.

WALKING FOOTBALL?

It is football, but slower.  No running allowed. No physical contact.

Think of it as a leisurely stroll with a ball, occasionally interrupted by moments of intense action.  It is perfect for those who want to enjoy the game without the risk of collapsing in a heap due to exhaustion.

THE MAIN RULES?
Any offence committed, will result in a free-kick. A penalty can be awarded to the opposition (if offences accumulate).

(1)  You must walk.  You must always keep one foot on the ground.

(2)  Three-touch football.  (competitions may vary).
(3)  Non-contact.

(4)  The ball must always be below head-height.

THE BENEFITS ARE NUMEROUS:
Firstly, you get exercise without feeling like you are actually exercising.
Secondly, you get to relive your footballing dreams without the risk of serious injury.
Thirdly, you get to socialise with like-minded individuals who are also in denial about their age.

It is a win-win-win situation, unless you are really bad at walking!

S0, WHY WALKING FOOTBALL?
(1)  Because we are not getting any younger.
(2)  Because it is a fantastic way to stay active and have fun.
(3)  Prove that you can still kick a ball in the intended direction. (4)  Plus, the post-match banter is legendary.

Just do not expect any Premier League scouts to be watching”
